WHEATON, Ill. – Diamonte Walls, 25, from Chicago, was denied bond today following allegations of a daring armed heist at an Addison Verizon store in DuPage County.

According to authorities, Walls is accused of forcibly demanding employees and customers to the ground Thursday afternoon and making away with a haul including 30 iPhones and other items, collectively valued at over $37,000.

After the alleged robbery, Walls and an unidentified accomplice are believed to have split and fled in separate cars. Walls’ escape was halted near an elementary school, leading to his arrest. Authorities reportedly discovered a loaded Taurus G2C 9mm handgun close to his location.

State’s Attorney Robert Berlin expressed grave concern over the audacity of the crime and its impact on the community. Addison Police Department continues to seek Walls’ accomplice and has called on the public for leads. Walls is scheduled for arraignment on October 19, 2023.
