TINLEY PARK, IL – A tense moment unfolded Tuesday at Andrew High School when an unidentified teen, not enrolled at the institution, was caught with a gun.

Authorities report the individual gained access after a student unknowingly let him in via a side entrance. However, he was escorted out by an alert staff member.

The situation intensified when a school resource officer spotted the gun tucked in the teen’s waistband while he loitered outside. The teen has not been identified, but is now in custody. School officials urge heightened awareness and caution.
