COVID-19: After weekend pause, Grant Park reports, Kankakee County has 955 cases to date

Kankakee County Health Department reported Monday for the first time since Friday today.  That in part to a decision to cease weekend report of coronavirus cases on the weekend by Health Administrator John Bevis.

On Monday, 64 new cases were announced bringing totals to date for the County to 955 since the pandemic began. 

There are currently 671 active cases in Kankakee County. Among today’s new cases included 14 individuals under the age of 20, with at least 7 children under the age of 13.  The County announced three new deaths over the weekend bringing the death total to date to 40.  There are now 244 recoveries.

Since Saturday, two new zip codes began reporting cases of COVID-19 in Kankakee County.  Grant Park and Cabery report 6 cases each of the virus to date since the pandemic began.

Cases increased Monday via IDPH over the course of the past three days since last reporting tallies were made. Since Friday, cases have risen in Bourbonnais (+5), Kankakee (+19), St. Anne (+1) and Grant Park (+6). Here’s how cases break down across Kankakee County via confirmed Zip Codes on Monday:
