The Peotone Chamber of Commerce posted this afternoon that Garage Sale days in the village, planned for Friday and Saturday June 19th and 20th, are planning to go forward with no cancellations in mind.

Earlier this Month, Oak Forest canceled their annual City Wide Garage Sale days due to the pandemic. Just two weeks ago, trustees in the Village of Manteno, an eight-minute car ride from Peotone, made a point to call out that garage sales could not be held during the pandemic.

Registration for the annual Garage Sale Days in Peotone will begin in the next few days.

As part of today’s announcement, the organization attached the following notice to a bottom of a flyer released online:

“The Peotone Chamber of Commerce recommends all garage sale participates follow the required safety procedures currently in place by the Illinois Department of Health…”

As of Monday, Will County had 4,415 cases and 240 dead from contracting COVID-19.  At least 25 cases have been reported in the 60468 zip code.  To date as of Monday, there were 96,485 cases and 4,234 deaths due to contracting COVID-19 in Illinois.
