KANKAKEE — Chaos erupted on Crestlane Monday when a woman was shot multiple times in a parking lot, according to Kankakee City Police. A 24-year-old man, clutching a child, sustained a minor injury but declined treatment on-site. The 22-year-old woman’s current condition remains uncertain after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

Adding to the drama, police identified a suspicious Tesla near East Bourbonnais and South Nelson around 12:30 pm, possibly linked to the shooting. However, the driver gave officers the slip, abandoning the vehicle on East Duane Boulevard shortly after.

The investigation is ongoing.
