DEMOTTE – Two Gary residents were in custody after being sought in connection with an alleged robbery of a Fifth Third Bank in DeMotte Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, officers were called to the Bank around Noon Wednesday and sent out a description of a vehicle, a silver Buick, believed to be involved in the incident. Neighboring Hebron officers attempted to pull over the car, which led to a chase.
Spikes attempting to stop the vehicle was used but failed to stop suspects. Officers later credited a roundabout for stalling the suspects’ car, which took the vehicle airborne before coming to a halt.
Police arrested both Ronnie Adams Jr., 29 of Gary, and Paris Davis, 20 of Gary, in connection with the robbery. The duo was interviewed by both FBI and DeMotte Police before being taken to the Jasper County Jail.
No customers or employees of the Bank were injured Wednesday.
