Man dies after vehicle collides with Train in Dwight

DWIGHT – An unidentified man has died after his vehicle was hit by a train Thursday morning in Livingston County.

According to local officials, it happened sometime around 10:30 am when a Norfolk-Southern Railroad train struck the vehicle, which rolled over into a ditch and burst into flames. 

Dwight Fire responded to the accident and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The man was reportedly still strapped into the driver’s seat when emergency personnel arrived. 

An ID is pending following notification of family members.
