Illinois surpasses 4,000 deaths statewide in pandemic, 90,000 positive to date

Illinois Department of Public Health officials announced the State had passed a total of 4,000 deaths since the pandemic began directly related to contracting COVID-19.

A total of 4,058 people have now died in the pandemic.

New cases on Friday included 2,432 citizens of the state, brining statewide totals to 90,369 in Illinois.
