WATSEKA – There will be no Christmas Tree Lane for the first time since 1968 at the Old Courthouse Museum in Watseka.

The announcement comes after the Iroquois County Historical Society voted 5-4 last week not to have the annual event for the first time in 52 years.

Nearly 40 organizations participated during the 2019 event, ranging from individual families to local classrooms and businesses. All proceeds from the annual event are used to support upkeep, heating and restoration of the Old Courthouse Museum, which has been a staple of the City since 1866.
