Less than a day after it was announced all would be welcomed at the Joliet COVID-19 testing site, Joliet Police Department says the Wal-Mart Testing Facility will be closed over the weekend.

The decision was made by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services officials that the COVID-19 testing facility will be closed over the holiday weekend.

Testing will resume on Monday.

Joliet Police Department officials tell residents to address all questions to Wal-Mart and HHS officials.  The Joliet Police Department has been involved in directing traffic for the Wal-Mart testing site at a local level only and has no control over the operating status at the site.
