KANKAKEE, Ill. – Kankakee Community College (KCC) introduced Christa Agee as the new coordinator of equity, diversity, and inclusion Monday. Known for her unwavering dedication to education and student advocacy, Agee’s appointment underscores KCC’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all students.
In her role, Agee will lead the Center for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, overseeing internal and external cultural programming, as well as messaging from the EDI Center. Additionally, she will spearhead the development of educational programs and a minority student success initiative. Agee aims to empower underrepresented students, providing them with resources and support as they embark on their college journey.
With a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Illinois State University and a master’s degree in multicategorical special education from Governors State University, Agee brings a wealth of experience to KCC. Her previous work with the Early Head Start Program at Governors State University and as a special education teacher further enhances her understanding of student needs.
