Kankakee, IL – Artists and designers, get your creative gears turning! The Kankakee Valley Park District is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025 by inviting locals to leave their mark on history with a unique logo design.

The contest boasts a $250 prize and the chance for the winning design to be featured across all district marketing materials for an entire year. This is not just a call for creativity, but an opportunity for community members of all ages to contribute to a legacy that will be seen and celebrated throughout Kankakee and beyond.

Submissions are due by May 1, 2024, and with no entry fee, it’s an open field for anyone with a vision for the park district’s next century. Official announcements and accolades for the winning design are set for June 1, 2024.

Entrants should note that originality is key, as only original artwork will be considered. The winning design will grace brochures and digital spaces from January 2025 through December 2025, offering extensive exposure for the artist.

For details on entry requirements and the submission process, enthusiasts are directed to the park district’s official website or can contact the Superintendent of Recreation, Lisa Krenkel.
