KANKAKEE – Local officials have identified the victim two car crash earlier today on Route 17 near Eagle Island and Sandbar Road.
The crash was reported by the Kankakee Sheriff’s Department just after 11:40 am Wednesday. Kankakee County Coroner’s office reports the victim has been identified as 75-year-old Betty Becker of Aroma Park. Becker was a passenger in a van driven by her husband at the time when the collision occurred.
No further details have yet been made on what caused the fatal crash.
Eastbound traffic on Route 17 was re-routed to Exline Road while an investigation continued this afternoon.
