Tattoo and animal lovers united at Oak and Ember Tattoo and Paradox Emporium in Bradley on April 6, 2019 for a benefit for the Kankakee County Humane Foundation. From noon to 8 p.m. Oak and Ember Tattoo donated 50 percent of its piercing and tattoo proceeds to the animal shelter. The shop filled up quickly and by 1 p.m. the wait to get a tattoo was over two hours long. Animal lovers chose their tattoos from three different flash sheets Oak and Ember Tattoo artists created especially for the event, which were customizable by size and colors.

Next door at Paradox Emporium, an entertainment venue with two Escape Rooms and a coffee and cocktail lounge, adoptable dogs from KCHF mingled with the public. While waiting for their tattoos, animal lovers sipped coffee and cold beverages and potentially met their new four-legged best friend.
The benefit raised over $2,300 for the shelter. 43 tattoos were inked along with 14 piercings.
