KANKAKEE – A woman is dead after an apparent hit-and-run death over the weekend.
According to Kankakee Police, it happened Saturday night around 10:20 pm in the 1000 block of North Kennedy Drive when a woman identified as Vanessa Calhoun of Kankakee was struck by a passing car. That car that fled the accident, Calhoun was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Eyewitness reports believe the car that hit Calhoun was a 2012-2015 Buick Verano. Any additional information that could help in identifying the driver of that vehicle can be sent to the Kankakee City Police or Crime Stoppers at 815-932-7463.
