NAPERVILLE – Indian Prairie School District 204 is warning students of a TikTok Challenge that could see felony charges brought against them.

The viral challenge temps students to “smack a staff member on the backside.” District 204 said in a statement posted to their website any student taking part in the challenge could face “school and police consequences.”

“Police are warning students these viral TikTok’s are much more than just challenges. They are criminal offenses as some of these challenges are bordering on assault,” The District said in a statement posted to their website last week. Aggravated Assault is a felony with charges of up to three years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

School administrators are asking parents to talk to children about the serious nature of the challenges.

District 204 has nearly 28,000 students in 31 schools ranging from elementary to high school across Naperville, Aurora, Bolingbrook, and Plainfield.
