KANKAKEE – State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) is hosting a blood drive in partnership with the Versiti Blood Center of Illinois from 4:00pm—7:00pm on Friday, October 2nd at the Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School Student East parking lot located at 700 W. North Street in Bradley. The blood drive will take place on Versiti’s mobile coach.

Representative Parkhurst’s Blood Drive helps local blood banks increase their supply amid the countless cancelled blood drives across Illinois this spring and summer. The upcoming drive will help mitigate the blood shortage that affected the state due to COVID-19.

“There is a huge need for blood right now in our community and statewide,” said Rep. Parkhurst. “When you donate blood, you help save lives.  This event will be an important step toward mitigating any further shortages, and I am looking forward to seeing our community stepping up to help.”

Walk-ins are welcome, but an appointment is preferred. To schedule an appointment, please visit https://donate.illinois.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/5589279 or call Amy at 312-814-5905. Guests are required to wear a mask or face covering

The Versiti Blood Center of Illinois recommends that you eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before donating. Photo ID is required. All blood donations will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies as part of standard testing procedure.
