Two men dead in possible Pedestrian/Motorist incident in Peotone

PEOTONE – Two local men are dead after a bizarre incident possibly connected involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle.

According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, it happened in the early morning hours Sunday when 26-year-old Ethan R. Ullrich, a 26-year-old from Manteno was walking Westbound on Wilmington Road a half mile west of Route 57.  Ullrich was reportedly hit by a motor vehicle.

Another death was reported nearby when 23-year-old Jake W. Murdock was found at the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

It has not been confirmed the incidents are connected by any reporting agency.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. 

The Will County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.

No further information is available while toxicologically and autopsy reports are pending.
