Vacant home left with extensive damage after blaze in Kankakee

KANKAKEE – A fire that broke out in the 1000 block of East Eagle in Kankakee is out this morning after hours of fighting the blaze Friday afternoon.

The fire first broke out sometime around 4 pm and required multiple jurisdictions to respond to the blaze.  Once firefighters arrived, flames were already showing out of the home. It took a few hours to put the fire out. Damage was extensive to the vacant structure, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
