PEOTONE – A visitation for Indiana State University (ISU) freshman Dylan McConkey is scheduled to go ahead this Sunday.
McConkey, a freshman at ISU, was found dead this week by his roommates in Cromwell Hall on campus at the university just after 1:40 pm Sunday. University police and the Terre Haute Police Department assisted in the call.
An autopsy investigation into the teen’s death is ongoing by the Vigo County Coroner’s office. The Coroner’s office is also awaiting results of a toxicology report.
“Dylan was kindhearted and had an infectious smile. He enjoyed playing basketball and sand volleyball with his friends and catfishing with his dad. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls especially, Michael Jordan, and the Washington Redskins. He collected basketball jerseys and basketball shoes, and also loved music and enjoyed collecting vinyl records. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone,” his obituary reads.
The 18-year-old student graduated Peotone High School earlier this year. His obituary reads he ‘passed away suddenly’ Sunday.
Visitation for McConkey will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone from 2 to 8 p.m. this Sunday. The funeral is scheduled for Monday at 11 a.m.
