Woman Dies in Fatal Iroquois County Crash

IROQUOIS COUNTY, Illinois – A somber cloud looms over Iroquois County as 64-year-old Betty Reetz, a dedicated member of the local radio station’s WGFA’s Rain Gauge Volunteer Team, met an untimely end in a heart-wrenching multi-vehicle crash. 

The incident unfolded on Monday, leaving the Cissna Park community in mourning. Reetz suffered devastating ‘multiple traumatic injuries’ when her vehicle collided with another on Route 49 at Iroquois County Road 300 N. 

Illinois State Police, in collaboration with the Champaign County Coroner’s Office, are diligently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
