Over 77% of patients that came down with cases of COVID-19 last month in Illinois are now reporting as ‘recovered’ according to Illinois Department of Public Health officials earlier today.

“This is encouraging news and I hope it will strengthen our resolve to continue the very tough sacrifices that we continue to make,” IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said on Tuesday.

State officials now report 33,059 of cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, with 1,468 dead.  On Tuesday, IDPH announced 1,551  new cases of COVID-19 with 119 dead across 96 counties in Illinois.  IDPH says over 55% of all ICU beds in the State are currently in use in Illinois, with 60% of the State’s ventilators available for use.
