COVID-19: 10 new cases, 20 dead from virus in Kankakee County

Kankakee County Health Department officials announced 10 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.  Among them included men and women ranging in age from 20 years old to over 80.

One new death was reported by the Health Department for the area today, bringing County death totals to 20. As of Tuesday afternoon, 65 cases had recovered from the virus.  Earlier today IDPH officials announced 77% of COVID-19 cases from one month ago reported as ‘recovered’ to the State.  Here in Kankakee County, that number is, but case recovery has risen to 22% overall since the pandemic began.

At least one resident has died at a long-term facility in Kankakee, confirmed in the resident’s obituary.
