BOURBONNAIS – Bourbonnais Elementary School District 53 (BESD) reported a third confirmed COVID-19 case among their community on Wednesday afternoon.

The announcement came just a week after the school announced over 80 students had been isolated due to close contact among it’s community.

“The last time the COVID-19 positive individual was in the school setting while they were contagious was Friday 8/28/2020.” BESD Superintendent Dr. Adam Ehrman reported Wednesday night in a letter to parents. “We encourage all members of the school community to continue using preventative measures to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19, including practicing social distancing and wearing masks.”

Since Monday, 107 new confirmed cases of the pandemic have been reported among the Kankakee County community, including 18 new cases among teenagers and younger in the County.
