Phase 4 continues to roll out in Illinois with state casinos set to reopen Wednesday at half capacity.

A variety of guidelines have been laid out by the state gaming board including cleaning regiments and social distancing measures.  Card tables will be stretched across the floor and surrounded by Plexiglas while slot machines will be routinely sanitized.

Items regularly handled by others will be regularly swapped out as well, including cards, cash, chips and dice.

Joliet has two casinos that have sat empty due to the pandemic.  In April, Joliet Mayor Bob O’ Dekirk announced Riverboats in Joliet were losing about $300,000 a week.

Casinos across state lines in Indiana opened two weeks ago to great early success.
