COVID-19: Illinois announces 867 new cases Sunday, 43 dead

Illinois Department of Public Health officials announced Sunday 867 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 43 additional confirmed deaths.  Among today’s announced deaths included three residents of Will County, one a male in his 40s.

There have been nearly 6,000 deaths due to novel coronavirus since March in the state.  The number currently stands at 5,904.  Since March, IDPH has reported 127,757 cases of COVID-19.

As of Sunday, the statewide rolling 7-day positivity rate from May 31st to June 6th was at 5%.  In the last 24-hours, laboratories have run 20,700 COVID-19 tests in Illinois, according to IDPH officials.
