COVID-19 tops 25 million cases globally

Over 25 million people across the globe have now been infected with novel coronavirus since the pandemic began.

The new milestone was announced Sunday by Johns Hopkins University.

The new number comes as the United States closes in on nearly 6 million infected. As of Sunday morning, that number was at 5.96 million people. Over 182,000 have died as a result of contracting the pandemic in the United States.

Globally, over 842,000 have died as a result of the virus.
