There are now 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kankakee County. Cases range from both men and women in their 50s to 80s.
Details are limited due to HIPPA regulations.
The County’s first case was just announced late last week. With additional testing sites like Midwest Express Clinic in Bourbonnais testing at-risk citizens as well as a Federal operating site at Wal-Mart in Joliet testing First Responders, that number is expected to still climb in the coming days.
During a radio interview yesterday, Kankakee County Health Department Administrator John Bevis said with local labs now testing for the pandemic, numbers are expected to climb. “They’re trying to play catch-up. So some of these positives (test results) we get might be three and four days old. But they’re trying to turn those things around as fast as they can.” said Bevis.
