Momence Community School District #1 Superintendent Shannon Anderson wrote parents Wednesday informing them two district staff members had tested positive for COVID-19.

Additionally the school reports one suspected case of COVID-19 among the staff. No specific school was mentioned in the briefing.

“To promote community health and well-being, we will provide COVID-19 related updates in an effort to share as much information as we can with our stakeholders.” Anderson wrote Wednesday.

The school has notified any individuals in close contact with the cases and is working with the Kankakee County Health Department in response to the pandemic.

“We are committed to providing your child and our staff with a safe and healthy environment.” Anderson added.

The announcement comes a day after St. Anne schools announced positive tests among their employees. The school district moved to online learning through mid-October following the announcement.
