Dunkin’ will reportedly close up to 450 stores located inside of Speedway gas stations, nationwide by the end of 2020. The announcement is due to a termination of partnership with Hess, owner of Speedway gas stations, Today Food reports.
The locations do not include any free-standing cafes.
“By exiting these sites, we are confident we will be better positioned to serve these trade areas with Dunkin’s newest Next Generation restaurant design that offers a broader menu and modern experience,” Kate Jaspon, Dunkin’s CFO told Today in a statement. “We also remain committed to growing our presence in gas and convenience locations, as well as other non-traditional locations, including airports, universities, travel plazas and military installations.”
The coffee chain announced in June it would ad upwards of 25,000 employees to it’s workforce in the coming months.
