Alleged Heroin Dealer Tased in Home in Iroquois County, Released Under Safe-T Act

Watseka, IL – A Watseka man was arrested Sunday night following a narcotics raid at his home on the 200 block of W Hickory.

According to the Watseka Police Department, officers executed a search warrant around 8 p.m. Sunday after conducting a narcotics buy based on a tip. Raymond A. Joe, 44, also known as “Griff,” was charged with delivery of methamphetamine, delivery of heroin, and resisting arrest. 

During the raid, Joe allegedly resisted arrest, prompting officers to use a Taser to subdue him. Police found a small quantity of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and approximately $3,000 in cash. Joe was taken to the Iroquois County Jail and later released under the Illinois Safe-T Act. 

The investigation is ongoing, with more arrests anticipated.
