Madison, WI – Last evening’s storms caused significant tree damage and downed power lines at numerous state properties across Wisconsin.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, staff will be assessing damage and clearing downed trees. The public is urged to give workers space and exercise caution while visiting state parks, forests, trails, and wildlife areas. Visitors are also advised to report any property damage or downed trees to local offices.

Blue Mound State Park is currently closed due to extensive storm damage and downed power lines. The department thanks the public for their patience as cleanup efforts continue.
