Aurora, IL – Community Spirit Highlighted in Lions Club’s Charitable Gesture

Aurora, IL – The Aurora Lions Club has bolstered Mutual Ground’s mission with a generous donation of $500 ahead of their significant 16th annual Walk for Hope event, showcasing continued community support for those affected by domestic violence. 

At a recent gathering, Aurora Lions President Susan Koepke and Service Chair Jay Short presented the funds to Linda Maranda, Mutual Ground’s Executive Director, underlining the club’s commitment to local social causes. The fundraiser is set to take place on June 7, offering residents a chance to contribute through participation.

According to Mutual Ground, the funds will support the organization’s extensive services, including a 24-hour crisis hotline and emergency shelter. The Walk for Hope, a family-friendly event featuring music and food trucks, will take place at Waubonsie Lake Park.
