La Salle, IL – Wet Road Leads to Two-Vehicle Crash on I-39

La Salle, IL – A two-vehicle collision involving a semi and a car left a man from Oregon, Illinois, injured on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred on the northbound lane of I-39 at the La Salle exit. According to the Illinois State Police, Jacob Duke, 24, lost control of his Nissan on the slick pavement, veered into the median, and upon re-entering the roadway, collided with a semi-truck. The semi driver was reported unharmed.

Duke was transported to a local hospital with injuries following the incident. He was also cited for several traffic violations, including driving too fast for conditions, improper lane usage, not wearing a seatbelt, and driving without insurance.
