Backyard Robbery Caught on Video Shocks Kankakee Neighborhood

KANKAKEE, IL – Monday evening at 6 PM, Kankakee City Police rushed to the 1300 block of S. 3rd Ave. after receiving reports of gunfire. 

According to police reports the investigation took a turn when a resident provided video evidence of the crime occurring in her own backyard. The footage, yet to be released to the public, reportedly captured an armed robbery where suspects were seen shooting at the victim and forcibly taking his cell phone, wallet, and cash. 

The search for the suspects continues as this brazen act leaves the community on edge, with authorities calling for any additional information.
