Bourbonnais, IL – The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District recently enhanced its emergency response capabilities by swearing in two new firefighter-paramedics, Lucas Schjbal and Dan Hill.

The ceremony, held during the monthly trustees meeting on April 23, was presided over by Senior Trustee Paul Grzelak. Both Schjbal and Hill are not only certified in Illinois Basic Operations but also as nationally certified paramedics, a significant boon for the community.

The addition increases the district’s career staff to 11 full-time members, supported by six contract workers and 29 part-time employees. The district, which handled over 4,400 calls for service last year, remains committed to augmenting its team with professionals skilled in both advanced life support and fire suppression.
