Kankakee County, IL – Man Arrested in Champaign Following High-Speed Chase, Crash on I-74

Kankakee County, IL – A Kankakee County man was arrested in Champaign this week after a high-speed chase that began in his home county. 

The incident, involving 19-year-old Anthony Adams and a female juvenile, escalated when their vehicle collided with a police car and a semi-truck on Interstate 74, ultimately becoming disabled.

According to police reports, the crash occurred on Tuesday and resulted in minor injuries to a deputy. Inside the vehicle, authorities allegedly discovered two handguns, one with a defaced serial number, ammunition, and a rifle. 

The juvenile was released to her parents following the incident. Adams is currently being held at the Champaign County Jail, facing charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated fleeing and eluding.
