Champaign Woman Already in Custody, Charged for Alleged Role in Party Shooting

Champaign, IL – A Champaign woman has been charged in connection with a March shooting on Hickory Street. Police responded to the 1400 block of N. Hickory Street at 9:24 p.m. on March 22 for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers learned a 24-year-old female victim had arrived at a local hospital.

According to Champaign Police, the victim was attending a party in the 1400 block of N. Hickory when a single shot was allegedly fired by Danielle Hoffman, 20, of Champaign, striking the victim. Hoffman was arrested on April 4 in the 3300 block of Brentwood Drive on unrelated charges. On May 31, Hoffman’s charges were updated to include Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, a Class X Felony.
