Cass County, IL – Illinois State Police Investigate Suspicious Death

Beardstown, IL – Illinois State Police (ISP) are conducting an investigation into a suspicious death in Beardstown, Illinois. The Beardstown Police Department received a 911 call around 7:17 AM on Friday, leading officers to the 1400 block of Clay Street. Upon arrival, police discovered a deceased male in a vehicle near the residence.

According to ISP, they were requested by Beardstown Police and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department to assist in the investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday in Springfield, Illinois. Results of the autopsy and toxicology tests may take several weeks.

There are no known safety concerns for the community at this time. Anyone with information about the investigation is urged to contact ISP DCI Zone 4 at (217) 782-4750.
