Champaign County Alert: Rantoul Building’s Roof Collapse Triggers Safety Measures

Rantoul, IL – The heart of Rantoul faced an unexpected disruption today as a building’s partial roof collapse spurred community concern.

The Rantoul Fire Department reports that there were no immediate dangers from the collapse at 119 Sangamon Avenue, although the debris has prompted safety advisories. Officials have cordoned off the area and are advising the public to steer clear while the investigation into the cause is ongoing. 

The Department’s prompt response ensured no injuries, and they are closely monitoring the situation to provide updates as necessary.
