KANKAKEE, IL – After a morning disrupted by a bomb threat, classes have now resumed at Bishop McNamara Catholic School.

According to city police reports the threat, communicated via social media early today, led to an immediate evacuation of the school premises. Collaborative efforts by the Kankakee City and County Police, along with the Kankakee Fire Department, ensured a swift response.

The school, located on West Brookmont Boulevard, was thoroughly inspected by law enforcement officials, who also reviewed security footage. This extensive investigation confirmed the threat to be non-credible, declaring the school safe for return. By 8:50 a.m., authorities and school officials deemed it safe for students to re-enter the building and continue with their academic schedule.
