Tinley Park, IL – A 48-year-old man was arrested after firing celebratory gunshots at a gender reveal party in Volunteer Park on Sunday. The incident took place during a family gathering, raising concerns about public safety despite no injuries being reported.

According to the Tinley Park Police Department, the man fired multiple shots into the air, causing alarm among park-goers and prompting a swift police response. Officers arrived on the scene shortly after receiving multiple calls from concerned residents. The man was taken into custody without incident.

Police emphasized that such actions, even in celebration, can pose significant dangers. No further threats to the public were reported, and the park has since returned to normal.
