This checkout experience, enabled by Grabango’s artificial intelligence technology employing computer vision and machine learning, setting a new benchmark in retail convenience at the ALDI located at 2275 West Galena Blvd.
The CEO of Grabango, Will Glaser, expresses enthusiasm for the ALDIgo launch, underscoring it as the inception of a larger plan to revolutionize the grocery shopping experience. “Although more challenging, it was important to us to launch this technology in a typical store and not one purpose-built for us,” Glaser said. “ALDI is one of the most innovative retailers in the world, and we are honored to partner with them to give their shoppers an exciting new way to shop the store.”

According to the company, here’s how it works: The AI system discreetly tracks the items selected, allowing for an efficient, queue-free checkout. Customers can complete their transactions via the Grabango app or card payments at designated stations, with the option of traditional cashier service maintained for those who prefer it.
