Chicago, IL – Shoppers in Chicago are being warned about a nationwide scam involving a phony violin player positioned outside local retail stores, including Target. 

According to a wide variety of reports the scam artists reportedly using a fake violin and pre-recorded music, has been soliciting donations under the guise of being in financial distress. This fraudulent activity is part of a broader pattern observed across various U.S. cities, indicating a possible coordinated scam operation.

Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and refrain from donating to such schemes. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to store managers or directly to the police. The aim is to curb these deceptive practices that not only mislead the community but also divert resources away from legitimate charitable causes.
