Gamers Robbed Christmas Eve in Faux Xbox Sale Meetup in Chicago

Chicago, IL – A disturbing trend emerged in Chicago’s Grand Boulevard neighborhood, where two gamers were robbed at gunpoint under the guise of buying Xbox consoles. 

The incidents occurred in the 4000 block of South Federal Street, with the first robbery taking place on Christmas Eve around 8:30 p.m., and the second on December 29 at about 7:30 p.m. 

According to reports the victims, enticed by social media advertisements for Xbox sales, were ambushed and robbed upon arriving at the agreed meetup locations. The Chicago Police Department has yet to disclose the specific social media platforms used for these fraudulent sales. They are cautioning the public to be vigilant during such transactions and to avoid distraction.
