Dwight Public Works Building Engulfed in Flames, State Fire Marshal Investigating

Dwight, IL – A fire ravaged the Dwight Public Works building overnight, with calls for emergency response dispatched at approximately 12:30 a.m. 

According to Dwight Fire, Firefighting units arrived to find significant flames breaking through the roof of the facility. The incident escalated into a multi-agency effort as the Dwight Fire Protection District called upon mutual aid from surrounding areas. 

The State Fire Marshal’s office and Mabas 15 fire investigators are at the scene to examine the cause of the fire. Details will be disclosed to the public following the ongoing investigation.
