Hoopeston, IL – Firefighters Respond to Sixth Avenue House Fire Twice in One Night

Hoopeston, IL – Firefighters were summoned to a house fire in the 300 block of Sixth Avenue early Saturday morning. According to authorities, the blaze, which started around two a.m., was believed to be of electrical origin, originating from the exterior of the home. 

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the initial incident. However, in a rare turn of events, emergency crews had to return to the same location hours later. The fire had rekindled, with visible smoke emanating from the home’s windows. The residents of the house, now displaced by the incident, are facing the need to seek alternative housing. 

Investigations into the specific causes of the fire are ongoing, and local fire safety officials have been emphasizing the importance of electrical safety in residential areas.
