Illinois Man Charged with Attempted Murder Using Crossbow Against Family Member

Morris, Illinois – An Illinois man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly attacking a family member with a crossbow. The Morris Police Department reports that Cody Atkinson, 27, of Morris, was indicted on December 6th by a Grundy County grand jury. 

The incident, which took place on November 20th in the 1300 block of Liberty Street, Morris, followed an argument between Atkinson and the female family member. Despite the serious nature of the alleged attack, no injuries were reported. 

An arrest warrant has been issued for Atkinson, who could face 6 to 30 years in prison if convicted of this class X felony.
