Warren County, IN – A routine traffic stop escalated into a multi-county pursuit this morning on State Road 63, culminating in the arrest of an Illinois man on multiple charges, including possession of marijuana.
According to Indiana State Police reports it began Friday morning at approximately 10:30 AM, Trooper Jeffries attempted to stop a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer for speeding near the intersection with State Road 28. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Christopher McCaa of Country Club Hills, IL, initially pulled over but fled as the trooper approached his vehicle.
The chase continued northbound on State Road 63 to US 41, crossing into Benton County where law enforcement successfully deployed a tire deflation device, bringing the vehicle to a stop without further incident. McCaa was taken into custody and is now facing several charges, including resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, a Level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, and Fowler Police Department assisted in the arrest. McCaa was booked into the Warren County Jail, where he remains pending further legal proceedings.
