Aroma Park, IL – A flag and its pole were reportedly stolen from the Aroma Park bridge overnight during Memorial Day weekend. The flag had been part of a patriotic display organized by the Aroma Park Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

According to a social media post by the Village of Aroma Park, closer inspection revealed that the flag was taken intentionally, as part of the pole was still in the holder. This act of vandalism is especially disheartening given the significance of Memorial Day, a time to honor and remember those who have sacrificed their lives for the country.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the village office or return the flag to the Aroma Park Legion. Additionally, if anyone finds the flag floating in the river or washed up on shore, they are encouraged to drop it off at Ryan’s Pier or the village office.
